Ini - And sometimes even if it is covered by the extended warranty they'll throw so many obstacles in your way that you just get frustrated and give up. If that fails they can always accuse you of doing something that voids the contract, like opening the item to see what's wrong.

I'm a bit paranoid with electronic gagdets so I have gotten extended warranties in the past. But I have found that I hardly ever use it. Or if I do, they always find ways of adding extra charges, or work that needs to be done that's not covered by the warranty. No more of those for me!

Absolutely. If it doesn't cover accidental damage it's almost useless because that gives them all of the wiggle room they need to blame you for <I>any</I> problem. In which case, they don't have to fix <I>anything</I> if they don't want to.
